It sounds like a joke or a riddle — “What difference does an Easter donkey make?” — but it’s actually a serious question! Before I tell you about the donkey I met last night, here’s my question: What difference does Easter make to you? How does Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection affect your daily life?
healing a broken heart
You’re a believer, a woman of faith, a Christian woman who is growing spiritually…why, then, do you keep comparing yourself to other Christians? How do you stop measuring your spiritual growth against theirs?
How do you cope when you’re depressed and sad because you feel ugly and unloved? Maybe you feel ugly because someone called you a bad name. Maybe you feel unlovable because of a breakup or divorce. Maybe you feel worthless because you aren’t as pretty or skinny as your sister, best friend, or neighbor.
How do you see God in the darkest times of your life? Maybe you’re coping with cancer, chemotherapy, chronic pain, constant suffering. Maybe your child is ill or lost, your husband gone, your hopes and dreams destroyed. Maybe you’ve been left at the alter, or maybe you walked away from a marriage or relationship and now you regret it.
Sometimes you can’t fight or overcome spiritual darkness. You don’t have the energy to put on your armor, much less battle the enemy. All you can do is learn how to endure spiritually dark times without losing heart, soul, or faith. And that’s enough.
How do you know God cares for you? What are the signs of God’s love and protection? Finding proof that God cares about you can be as simple as looking up at the starry night sky, or as complicated as studying the book of Revelation for signs of Jesus Christ.
No matter how unhealthy or even abusive your family is, your heart sinks when you realize you can’t go home. Your family is part of who you are. Nothing will ever change the impact that your home, home, and childhood had on your life.
Your heart is broken, and you’ll never be the same. You won’t get over your loss – but you can get through it more quickly and easily. If you learn how to increase your faith when you’re brokenhearted, you’ll find yourself filled with more joy, peace, and freedom than you thought possible.
